A 22-year-old woman has been fined £150 after admitting disorderly behaviour on licensed premises.

Kirsty Susan Ann Green swore at police after they were called to the Rosemount pub.

Prosecuting advocate Rachael Braidwood told the court that police were called to the Woodbourne Road bar in Douglas on July 7 at 9.45pm.

Staff reported that Green was refusing to leave but when officers arrived she had gone.

However, half an hour later police were called back to the pub as Green had returned.

When officers returned they found her outside and she said: ’I hope you’re not here for me.’

They offered to take her home but Green then launched a vile tirade of abuse.

She then told police: ’Arrest me then, I’m not leaving.’

She was asked again if she was refusing to leave the area and replied: ’Yes I am.’

Police then removed her and put her in handcuffs but she pulled away and tensed up as she was taken to a van.

Once inside the van Green, who lives in Hillside Avenue, Douglas, spat twice on the floor.

The court heard that she has previous convictions for resisting arrest in 2015 and being drunk and disorderly in 2018.

Defence advocate David Reynolds asked for credit to be given for his client’s guilty plea.

’Ms Green tells me she has no recollection,’ said the advocate.

’She says she had changed her meds and not drunk alcohol for a number of weeks so it was a mixture of the two.’

Mr Reynolds said that his client had written letters of apology to the police and the Rosemount but had been too embarrassed to send them, and that she had struggled with mental health issues as well as financially.

He continued: ’She has been referred to Motiv8. This is somebody not regularly before the court and who is attempting to obtain the help she needs.’

Magistrates made no order for prosecution costs and ordered Green to pay the fine at a rate of £10 per week, deducted from benefits.
