Armed police were called to an address in Port St Mary last night.
It followed a call from the concerned occupant of a house on Beach Road.
Beach Road was closed off for a time while officers dealt with the incident.
Police insist there was no risk to the general public and the matter was ’quickly de-escalated’.

A police spokesman confirmed: ’Police officers including armed officers were called to an address in Beach Road, Port St Mary, last night.
’A temporary road closure was put in place for a time following information received from a concerned resident.
’Upon checking the information at the address, the matter was quickly de-escalated.
’There was no risk to the general public. This was not a call-out in response to reports of a firearm.’
