This was the scene following a collision in Douglas this afternoon.

The junction of York Road and Woodbourne Road was closed following a two car collision which left one vehicle on its side.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the scene.

The road reopened shortly after 4pm.

A statement from the fire and rescue service said: 'At 2pm this afternoon one major appliance, enhanced rescue vehicle and the duty officer from Douglas station were mobilised to a person trapped in a vehicle following a two vehicle road traffic collision at the junction of York Road and Woodbourne Road, Douglas.

'The vehicle was stabilised and the windscreen removed to allow colleagues from the Isle of Man Ambulance service access to the occupant and assess for injuries.

'After a short while the occupant was able to be escorted from the vehicle.'
