The New Castletown Road in the area of the Santon Motel remained closed this afternoon (Saturday) following an accident - the second in 12 hours.Police said a pylon needs replacing and the road will remain shut 'for some time'.Motorists were being advised to divert via St Marks or the Old Castletown Road. Police had been dealing with a second road accident near the Santon Motel on the main road between Douglas and Castletown.A message was earlier tweeted by the police that they were having to shut the road but that 'all parties are safe'.It follows a serious accident that saw the the road closed for several hours late last night (Friday) after two vehicles were involved in a crash.
The accident happened to the south side of the Santon Motel on the A5 at about 10.30pm.

The Roads Policing Unit is appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, and whom have not already given their details to the police, to come forward to assist with the investigation.
Details have yet to be made available as to any casualties
