Roads around the island are beginning to reopen after this morning’s snow.

The Mountain Road, however, remains shut and emergency services have had to aid a runner who was caught out by the weather.

Police said: ’We are currently dealing with a multi-agency response to someone who is stuck on the mountain needing medical attention. We are doing our best to get to those who are stuck with their cars.

’Whilst we know it might be appealing to head up the mountain please remember the road is closed and emergency services are busy dealing with a number of people stuck already.’
