Police are investigating after rubbish was dumped at a beauty spot.

Constable Rupert MacKenzie said ’a quantity of plasterboard and plastic’ was dumped over the wall at Fort Island, at Derbyhaven overnight yesterday/today (Friday/Saturday).

’The area is one of outstanding natural beauty (or was) and as such if you have any information about who may be responsible for this, or saw anything suspicious in the area overnight, please contact Constable MacKenzie on 822222 at Castletown police station.

’Any residents who live on Derbyhaven Road or Fort Island that may have private CCTV covering the roadway are also encouraged to get in contact with police.’
