A man found with 7,994 indecent images of children on his computer will be sentenced on January 28 at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.

Last month, Martin Andrew Cleator, aged 46, of Ballaquark, pleaded guilty to six counts of possessing indecent images - still and moving images.

The images were found by police on June 12 in encrypted partitions on Cleator’s computer and rate from one to five on the Copine scale of severity.

A large area of his computer, said to be between 202Gb and 900Gb was said to have been encrypted.

He was jailed in 2017 for having more than 900,000 child porn images and distributing 54 indecent child images. He was also made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order indefinitely.

Cleator has been committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing and will appear there on January 28.

Meanwhile, a charge of breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO), was dismissed. He was remanded in custody.
