Six people are currently in jail today, three of whom were arrested for ‘Covid matters’.

The police have said that they are waiting to be dealt with from previous shifts.

Yesterday, the police released a statement regarding covid breaches.

It said: ‘Nearly all of the Manx public are fully adhering to restrictions.

‘We do however receive many calls about potential or suspected breaches.

‘Our teams together with our partners research and investigate such reports in order to deal with people appropriately to keep our community safe.

‘Quite often there are no issues identified, sometimes advice is given and on occasions action has to be taken.

‘You may have seen in the media arrests have been made during this lockdown.

‘An arrest is made after other options are considered and done if proportionate, necessary and to keep the community safe.’
