A 65-year-old woman has been fined £400 for careless driving.
Wendy Doyle sent a postal admission to the offence and also had her licence endorsed with six penalty points.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that Doyle was driving a Ford Transit work van on December 13 at 4.30pm on Peel Road in Douglas.
At the Quarterbridge roundabout she collided with a Volkswagen.
A passenger in the Volkswagen suffered neck pain so the fire service had to cut off the door and roof to safely remove them as a precaution.
When interviewed Doyle, who lives in Vicarage Close, Castletown, said she saw a small car approaching on the New Castletown Road but believed she had time to continue but had then collided with the vehicle.
She claimed that she believed she had right of way due to the distance the other car was from the roundabout and said that the other car was travelling too fast.
No injuries were sustained in the accident.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also ordered that Doyle pay £50 prosecution costs which she will pay, along with the fine, at a rate of £10 per week.
