A motorist who drove at nearly twice the speed limit has been banned from driving for six months.
The 25-year-old already had 10 points on his licence from a previous speeding incident in 2017 when he was caught driving at 36mph over the speed limit.
Magistrates gave him eight points for his latest offence meaning that he was disqualified under the totting up process.
He was also fined £330 and ordered to pay £50 prosecution costs.Kelly was stopped by police at 7pm on July 9.
He said he was late to pick up his girlfriend from work.
He said a disqualification would make it impossible for them to both continue their employment. The court can decide not to disqualify a motorist from driving if it can be proved that exceptional hardship would be caused by a ban but magistrates decided that this was not the case.
Kelly will pay the fine and costs at a rate of £50 per month.
