A 54-year-old man who urinated against a pub wall has been fined £300.

John Langton admitted being drunk and indecent and was also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs after the incident outside Jaks bar.

Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court that Langton was in the bar on Loch Promenade in Douglas on September 26 at 11.20pm.

He was asked to leave by security staff and was escorted to the side exit.

However, Langton, of Close Drean, Ramsey, was then said to have become abusive before leaving.

Staff were then told by other customers that Langton was urinating against the wall at the side of the premises.

When bouncers looked outside they saw Langton with his private parts visible.

Police were called and when they arrested Langton he was said to be slurring his words and smelling of alcohol.

He was interviewed later but gave ’no comment’ responses to questions.

Defence advocate Kate Alexander asked for credit to be given for her client’s guilty plea and co-operation with the police.

’There is no suggestion he was disorderly,’ said the advocate. ’Mr Langton tells me he has limited recollection of the incident. He is embarrassed to be before the court.

’He does not regularly appear before the courts.’

Langton was ordered by High Bailiff Jayne Hughes to pay his fine and costs at a rate of £50 per week.
