A teenager who punched a window after a 17th birthday party has been fined £250.

Lewis Martin, of Fairways Drive, Douglas, had previously denied a charge of being drunk and disorderly but changed his plea on Thursday.

Prosecutor James Robinson told the court the birthday party took place at Arbory parish hall in Ballabeg on January 26 and was attended by more than 100 people.

Police were called to the event on a separate matter. Martin, aged 17, was arrested after he was seen swearing as he pushed people in the queue for buses, then punched the window of a house.

Advocate Ian Kermode said: ’He wishes to apologise to the arresting officer and your worship. It’s fair to say he’s learnt a lesson.’

Martin was also ordered to pay £300 prosecution costs.
