A teenager has admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply.

Kyle Reece Wright also pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of cannabis and the 18-year-old will be sentenced at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on January 22 next year.

Prosecuting advocate Rachael Braidwood told the court how the drugs were found on October 29 at a flat at The Pinewood in Laburnum Road in Pulrose, where Wright lived.

Just under one ounce of cocaine was found, valued at between £1,414 and £2,300.

Wright was also found in possession of 2.7 grams of cannabis.

Ms Braidwood submitted that the case should go to the higher court for sentencing.

Defence advocate Jane Gray agreed but said that there may be an issue regarding the weights of the drugs.

Deputy High Bailiff Chris Arrowsmith declined summary court jurisdiction and sent the case to the higher court.

A probation report will be prepared before sentencing which will consider all sentencing options, including custody. Wright is remanded in custody.
