A teenager has admitted kicking a neigbour’s door and using a ladder to bang on it.
Morgan John Ritchie pleaded guilty to provoking behaviour and property damage.
He will be sentenced on December 10 after a probation report has been prepared.
Prosecuting advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court that Ritchie and a juvenile had attempted to enter a property in Derby Road, Douglas, just after midnight.
The 17-year-old was said to have kicked the front door then picked up a ladder and started hitting the door with it.
The occupier of the property came out and Ritchie said ’he owes me money’, referring to another male at the property.
When Ritchie, who lives in Derby Road, was told that the police had been called he and the juvenile left.
They were arrested later and when interviewed Ritchie told police he could not remember much after 9pm and said he ’couldn’t remember’ in response to all questions about the allegations.
Defence advocate Jane Gray asked for a probation report with input from mental health services to be prepared before sentencing.
Deputy High Bailiff Chris Arrowsmith said that Ritchie had an ’extremely poor record’.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with conditions that the teenager live at his home address, obey a curfew between 8pm and 7am, not enter the address in Derby Road, not contact witnesses, and not leave the island without court consent.
