A Ramsey teenager has admitted stealing two cars in a day as well as assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
Mellissa Brew, aged 18, of Cronk Elfin, also pleaded guilty to theft of a bag of potatoes and a bottle of wine.
Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the court how an MG was taken from the car park in St Paul’s Square, Ramsey, in the early hours of September 26.
At 5.30am cash and a bag of potatoes were stolen from the open air farm shop in Sulby.
The MG was later found abandoned at Cranstall Road in Bride but CCTV footage viewed later showed Brew and Jason Liam Christian, aged 27, of Queen’s Pier Road, Ramsey, in the car.
Brew and Christian were then seen later that day driving a Land Rover at the EVF garage in Kirk Michael which was then found abandoned on the quay in Peel.
CCTV footage identified Christian as the driver and he admitted taking both vehicles without consent but Brew was jointly charged as she was a passenger in both cars.
Snapchat video also showed Christian and Brew in the car.
As Brew was being arrested she kicked one police officer in the groin but said later than it had been unintentional.
Christian was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on a previous court appearance after magistrates considered his previous convictions and he will be sentenced on a date to set.
During a previous court appearance Brew has also admitted offences of common assault, destroying property and resisting arrest.
Those offences were committed on October 2 when Brew ripped off a woman’s glasses and punched her in Parliament Street in Ramsey.
She then had to be Pava sprayed twice as she kicked out at police.
Magistrates accepted jurisdiction for the sentencing of Brew and that will take place after a probation report, which will consider all options, has been completed.
Bail was granted with conditions that Brew reside at her home address, not contact witnesses, contact probation, and not leave the island without court permission.
