A teenager has admitted dangerous driving and property damage.

Jake Marcus Legat, of Corrin’s Way, Peel, had previously denied the offences but on Thursday changed his pleas.

He also pleaded guilty to behaviour likely to cause belief immediate unlawful violence may be used.

The 18-year-old will be sentenced on June 3 after a probation report has been completed.

Prosecuting advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court that Legat was reported to police after performing two overtaking manoeuvres on Castletown Road, travelling from Santon to Douglas on September 6 last year.

He was also said to have flashed his lights at one vehicle causing the man to stop his car and an argument to ensue.

Legat was also reported for an offence on August 9 when he was said to have punched a car window while the complainant sat inside, then snapped off the wing mirror.

The court heard that he has no previous convictions.

Defence advocate Paul Glover asked for a probation report to be prepared before sentencing, in view of the combination of offences.

Bail continues with a condition to contact probation.
