A teenager has been jailed for three years and nine months for drug trafficking and money laundering.
The Court of General Gaol Delivery heard that Kian Broadhead, 19, of Birch Drive, Peel, got involved ’way over his head’.
Apprentice plumber Broadhead admitted possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of the class A drug and possession of criminal property - namely £700 in cash.
Defence advocate Jim Travers urged the court to apply clemency. He said his client was not a waster but a teenager with a keen interest in sport and a promising future who had succumbed to the world of drugs.
’He got involved way over his head and admitted collected money to tune of £700 on behalf of another,’ he said.
Jailing Broadhead for three years and nine months, Deemster Alastair Montgomie said this was another example of the ’tragedy of good young people getting sucked in by these drug dealers and they end up carrying the can’.
The court heard the teenager was searched after being stopped in Foxdale in the car being driven by teenager Maylyn Campbell - see left.
