A teenager from Douglas has admitted charges of carrying a knuckle duster in his car and possessing cannabis.
Scott George Cooper, aged 18, of Close Kennish, was found with £164 worth of the drug and the weapon in the door compartment of his car.
He appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes on Tuesday.
Cooper admitted offences of possession of an offensive weapon and cannabis possession and will be sentenced on March 24 after a probation report has been completed.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that police spoke to Cooper while he was in a Ford Fiesta at the Abbey restaurant car park in Ballasalla on November 14.
A search of the vehicle found 8.2 grams of cannabis, snap bags, scales and a gold knuckle duster.
When interviewed Cooper handed in a prepared statement saying the drug was for personal use and the knuckle duster was a gift from a friend which he had left in his car.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with conditions that Cooper reside at his home address, contact probation, and not leave the island without court permission.
