A teenager suffered a serious leg injury after falling 7m onto rocks.

Coastguard volunteers were called out at 9.40pm last night (Friday) to reports of an injured casualty on the old baths beach in Peel.

The casualty had fallen about 7m onto rocks. They were assessed and given treatment for a serious leg injury.

Peel lifeboat was launched to evacuate the casualty from the beach.

The lifeboat took them to Peel breakwater where they were transferred to the waiting ambulance and taken to Noble’s Hospital.

Earlier, emergency services were called to deal with a young teenager found unconscious near the same location.Paramedics assessed the casualty who was transferred by Coastguard volunteers onto a stretcher and carried up to the ambulance.’This is a reminder, if one were needed, that large groups of young teenagers, alcohol and cliffs is never a sensible combination,’ said a Coastguard spokesman.At about 3.10pm yesterday, Coastguard teams from Ramsey and Peel were mobilised to help with the evacuation of a casualty from a fishing boat.Fire crews and police also attended the incident. The casualty was taken off the boat and transferred to the ambulance.
