A teenager has been fined £200 after she was found drunk and incapable, celebrating her release from secure accommodation.
Robyn Sarah Poppy Leadley, of Central Promenade, Douglas, has also been banned from entering licensed premises, and purchasing or being sold alcohol for six months.
Prosecutor Roger Kane said police in Ramsey received a report of the 18-year-old lying on a camper van near the swimming pool. Officers found Leadley falling into a hedge.
She was asked for her address but police said she could barely form a sentence due to her drunkeness.
Leadley was initially charged with being found drunk in a public place but that was amended to being found drunk and incapable, which she admitted.
Advocate Paul Glover asked for the offence to be dealt with by way of a financial penalty.
’Ms Leadley said she was out celebrating her recent release from the secure unit and it was her 18th birthday a few days later,’ said the advocate.
’No-one was hurt and there was no provoking behaviour. It was a case of her drinking far too much alcohol.’
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told the teenager: ’You need to do something to control your alcohol consumption. It is going to make the bottle of whatever you were drinking extremely expensive.’
Leadley was also ordered to pay £125 costs.
