A teenager from Douglas has been fined £620 and had his driving licence endorsed with eight penalty points.
Callum Lane, aged 19, of Governor’s Hill, admitted a licence offence, driving with no insurance, and having no vehicle licence.
Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the court how, on July 13 at 9.15pm, Lane was stopped by police while driving a Volkswagen Polo on Victoria Road in Douglas.
His tax was found to have expired in January 2018 and he held only a provisional driving licence.
Defence advocate Paul Glover said: ’The vehicle has since been impounded due to these offences.
Mr Lane informs me, on the day, he was going to pick his brother up, a 10- to 15-minute trip.
He accepts he shouldn’t have been driving without a full licence.’
Lane was fined £120 for the licence offence, £400 for having no insurance, and £100 for having no vehicle licence.
He must also pay £50 prosecution costs.
