Three woman have appeared in court after a fracas in Chester Street car park in Douglas.

Tara Lee Ashlyn Cowell, aged 30, of Castlemona Avenue, Keyleigh Jade Raby, aged 27, of Reginald Mews, and Emma Catherine Moore, aged 28, of Mountfield Road, all pleaded guilty to charges.

Cowell admitted affray, while Raby and Moore both admitted threatening behaviour after having an initial charge of affray against them withdrawn.

All three had previously pleaded not guilty to committing affray together and been set to go to trial but changed their pleas on Tuesday.

Prosecutor James Robinson told the court how, on January 13 at 9pm, the three women were on level four of Chester Street car park.

A number of other people were said to also be present when Cowell was said to have got into a verbal altercation with a man and woman, who she then struck out at.

Cowell was then said to have dragged the woman by her hair to the ground while Raby shouted: ’Don’t go near my brother again,’ and Moore shouted: ’Kill her.’

The altercation was said to have lasted around three minutes until some of the other people present intervened.

Cowell, Raby and Moore then got into a car and drove away as Moore said: ’Right girls, let’s go, our work here is done.’

The victim was said to have suffered a small cut.

All three later attended police headquarters but made no comment when quizzed about the incident.

The court heard that Cowell and Moore are also due to be sentenced at the Court of General Gaol Delivery for assault causing actual bodily harm in relation to another incident.

Defending Cowell, advocate Steve Wood said that a psychological report and a probation report had been completed for his client, due to her appearance at the higher court, but that he would request an addendum to the probation report to be completed before sentencing.

An addendum will also be requested for Moore.

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said that Cowell and Moore should be sentenced at the Court of General Gaol Delivery for the assault causing actual bodily harm offence first.

Mrs Hughes adjourned the case until April 25 when she said she will sentence all three women, but only if the higher court sentencing has taken place.

Bail was granted for all three women with conditions that they reside at their home addresses and attend probation meetings when required to do so.
