Emergency services tackled flames coming from a red van in Douglas this morning (Thursday).

Police were seen diverting traffic away from the vehicle, which was alight on Bucks Road, while members of the fire service used equipment to put the fire out.

The fire crew was called to the scene before lunchtime, where they used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the fire. The team were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes.

A spokesman from the Isle of Man Constabulary has said that the fire was caused due to an ’electrical’ fault in the van. They also confirmed that no one was hurt.
