Firefighters tackled a car blaze in Douglas tonight.

Crews were called after a report of a vehicle well alight at Chester street car park.

The officer in charge concluded there was a risk of the fire spreading to other vehicles. Three floors of the car park were heavily smoke-logged.

Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled vehicle fire. They used high-pressure hose reels to extinguish it.

As the fire was extinguished, crews searched all floors, stair cases, in and around other vehicles for potential casualties. No injuries were reported.

Crews vented the area and carried out checks with thermal imaging cameras.
