Two crew members on board a fishing vessel with its engine room in fire were rescued by the RNLI.
The Ramsey and Douglas RNLI launched their all-weather lifeboats early this morning (Monday) following a call out from HM Coastguard Belfast.
At 7.20am the Ramsey crew set off in all-weather lifeboat, RNLB Ann & James Ritchie, towards the 16 metre vessel reported to be 2.5 miles east of Maughold Head, arriving at the scene at 7.55am.
The Douglas RNLI all-weather lifeboat, RNLB Marine Engineer, was launched at 7.50am and later met the Ramsey lifeboat.
The crew onboard the boat had managed to isolate and extinguish the fire with neither one being injured in the incident.
However the boat had a complete loss of power.
Having first established that no injuries had been sustained, the RNLI crew worked together to safely tow the vessel to Douglas Harbour.
