A woman who launched an attack on a third party on a Douglas suburban street has been warned all sentencing options remain open to the court.
Douglas magistrates were told 20-year-old Arianna Nicole Skillen attacked another woman outside a block of flats on Marathon Road in Douglas.
Speaking on behalf of the prosecution, James Robinson said Skillen had got into an argument with the other woman as they walked along opposite sides of Marathon Road.
Matters escalated and culminated in Skillen suddenly running across the road and hitting the other woman in the face, knocking her to the ground. She then straddled the victim, raining blows on her face. The attack only came to an end when by-standers intervened and prised the two apart.
Skillen was tracked down by police on Castle Mona Avenue in Douglas the following day.
She told police she had had an argument with the victim and accepted pushing her down and hitting her in the face multiple times.
The court was told the victim was taken to Noble’s Hospital for treatment to facial bruising and had also suffered double vision after the accident.
Skillen, who lives on Peel Road in Douglas, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm after the attack, which took place outside Craig A Dell flats around 9pm on January 20.
Skillen’s advocate, Louise Cooil, asked for the matter to be adjourned while pre-sentence reports were completed, including a psychiatric report and a social enquiry report. Skillen is to reappear before the court on June 8 for sentencing and was bailed to her home address in the meantime.
