Fire crews were called out in the early hours today (Thursday) to tackle a flat fire in Douglas.
The fire broke out in the kitchen of a fourth floor flat in Drury Terrace at about 1.20am.
Two teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire and checked all occupants had safely left the building.
They remained in attendance for about an hour checking for hot spots with a thermal image camera and clearing the building of smoke using a positive pressure fan.
The fire was confined to the kitchen of the flat.
It is believed to have started by a burned supper and it was the second fire in two days caused by people leaving cooking unattended.
At 12.30pm on Christmas Day, firefighters attended a house fire on Anagh Coar Close, Douglas.
The owner of the property had left his Christmas Dinner in the oven unattended, resulting in a smoke logged property and a ruined turkey and trimmings.
Fortunately there was no damage or injuries.
Crews remained in attendance for 30 minutes.
