A 25-year-old woman has admitted two counts of common assault as well as disorderly behaviour on licensed premises and provoking behaviour.
Bethany Parker, of Fairfield Terrace, Douglas, will be sentenced on April 7.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon said Parker was at a private function at Vagabonds rugby club on June 16 as a friend of a guest. At 12.05am she was involved in an argument with another woman who tried to walk away from her. Parker was said to have grabbed the woman’s arm and lunged forward.
A man tried to intervene but Parker swore and told him: ’I’m going to gouge your eyes out. I’m going to rip your face off.’ She was then said to have tried to grab another woman but was removed from the area by a man.
Police had arrived by then and Parker was said to have been incoherent and verbally abusive to officers as she was arrested.
When interviewed, she admitted being in an argument but claimed she had been dragged out by the hair.
She said she had been drinking tequila shots and could not remember what the row was about. She denied making threats.
On October 6, police were called to flats at Linden Gardens in Douglas after a disturbance.
Two residents said they had come out of their flats as they had heard Parker arguing on the landing. They asked her to be quiet but Parker punched the woman and grabbed her by the hair.
The man suffered minor injuries trying to break up the altercation.
Parker told police the woman had come out her flat shouting and the man had grabbed her by the neck.
Advocate David Reynolds said Parker was dealing with Motiv8 and mental health issues and asked for a probation report.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered that the report consider all options, including custody. Bail was granted.
