A Pulrose woman claimed nearly £30,000 in benefits she wasn’t entitled to, a court has heard.

Victoria Louise Marks, of Heather Crescent, pleaded guilty to six counts of making a false representation to obtain a benefit.

She will be sentenced on March 5 after a probation report has been completed.

Prosecuting advocate Roger Kane told the court how Marks had failed to disclose that her partner was living with her and that she had started a new job.

The offences were committed between February 2017 and December 2018.

Mr Kane said that the total overpayment to Marks was £29,265 but that her benefit claim had not been fraudulent from the outset.

The prosecutor submitted that the case was suitable for sentencing in summary court.

Bail was granted.
