A woman was rescued from the rocks below Douglas Head yesterday (Friday).
Douglas Coastguard, the RNLI, fire, police and ambulance crews were all involved in the incident.
The woman was taken on board the lifeboat and then transferred to Noble’s Hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
A Douglas Coastguard spokesman said: ’The job involved the recovery of a vulnerable person from the rocks.
’It was quite a complex job which was made easier by lifeboat 16-21 being able to give us an accurate position on the casualty and then being able to assist in recovering the casualty, and also ourselves, fire and paramedic cliff technicians who were needed to recover the person and get them dispatched to hospital for further treatment.’
Douglas Head Road was closed for a time while emergency services dealt with the incident.
