A father from Ballasalla proudly crossed the London Marathon’s finish line in four hours and 50 minutes.
Ste Stanley, a 34-year-old civil servant, has raised £2,000 towards a UK charity, The Children’s Society, by taking part in the 26.2-mile course on Sunday.
Ste said he chose to run for the charity, which works with children who have been affected by issues such as poverty, abuse and neglect, due to his passion in helping young people.
He said: ’I am really proud to have completed this year’s London Marathon for The Children’s Society - it feels amazing!
’The London Marathon is a truly amazing experience. The crowds give you so much support and The Children’s Society’s "cheer stations" give a welcome boost. I’d recommend it to anyone!’
The Children’s Society’s supporter engagement officer, Leah Crowther, said: ’Completing the London Marathon is a truly remarkable accomplishment and Ste’s outstanding efforts will help to make a real difference to young people’s lives.
’We are so grateful to Ste, along with all of our London Marathon runners for taking part and supporting our vital work.’
