Ramsey Town Band’s gala concert is to take place next month.

This year it will be held at the Ramsey Park Hotel.

Since the Grand Island Hotel was closed and demolished, schools have hosted the band’s biggest concert of the year.

Now it will take place in the Park Hotel’s new function room.

At the concert, Huw Thomas will be the course director and Onchan’s David Karran as guest cornet soloist.

There will also be a short prelude concert by the junior band, The Neptune Street Nippers and the Tuesday Tooters .

The band’s musical director, Robert Quane, said: ’The move to Ramsey Park Hotel is an exciting change for us and we hope the addition of a theme - in this case music from film and shows - is tempting for new audience members - as well as much more comfortable surroundings.’

The concert takes place on Sunday, November17, from at 7.15 pm. Doors open at 6.45.
