This summer marks the 40th anniversary of opening of Peel’s Queen Elizabeth II High School.

The Queen officially opened it on Tynwald Day, 1979.

To commemorate the occasion, the school will be holding an anniversary ball on Friday, June 21, at the Palace Hotel in Douglas.

The evening will get under way at 7.30pm in the Cushag Suite. Tickets, priced at £45 per person, are available from the school office.

A school spokesman said: ’We would be delighted to welcome former members of staff and students to join in with the celebrations.’

Anyone who would like to attend should ring the school office on 841000, or via email to [email protected].
