Mr Rider said: ’I consider this work one of my finest paintings and was keen for it to be seen in public. When I learned local artists were being invited to exhibit in the Legislative Buildings then saw the well-lit space proposed to hang the painting, I knew it would have a good home.’
Mr Rider moved to the island in 2016 from Norwich. He is artist in residence at Grenaby Studios and has exhibited in London.
Mr Watterson said the painting outside the Barrool Suite ’is displayed to truly striking effect for all to admire.’
