Staff at an accountancy company are going to raise money for the Lisa Lowe Centre.

KPMG’s charity challenge, which will run until the end of September, will start on Sunday with the Lisa Lowe Walk.

It will see five teams across all departments go head to head to raise as much money as they can for the Lisa Lowe Centre.

The centre, part of the Manx Cancer Help charity, promotes positive mental health and provides specialist psychological therapies for all people on the Isle of Man.

The losing team in the challenge will endure a forfeit selected by the winners.

ising activities will include taking part in sports events for sponsorship, bake sales, and organising events such as football tournaments and quiz nights.

Each year KPMG, which is based on Athol Street, Douglas, selects a local charity to support through a variety of fundraising activities ranging from rowing and cycling challenges, raffles and dress down days to events such as the KPMG Promenade Relay - a relay race along Douglas Promenade, entered by over 100 teams.

Team members also participate in fun runs and marathons for charitable causes, racking up hundreds of miles and donating countless hours of their free time in the process.

KPMG managing director Russell Kelly said: ’Commitment to our local communities is at the heart of KPMG values and we are incredibly proud of our staff in the Isle of Man for coming up with this new initiative which will help maximise the funds we can raise for our chosen charity.

’This year our staff voted to support the Lisa Lowe Centre, as many of our families or friends have been affected in some way by mental health. As always, we are grateful for the generosity of KPMG’s clients, staff and friends in supporting us with our fundraising efforts.’

Gareth Nicholson from the Lisa Lowe Centre, said: ’We were delighted to hear that KPMG staff have recognised the importance of good mental health among our community and has chosen to support our work in such an active way. We wish all the teams well in their endeavours.’
