The main road between Peel and Douglas will be closed for two consecutive weekends due to pipe work.

The A1 Peel to Douglas road will be closed in Glen Vine between the Glen Darragh road, near Marown school, and its junction with Ballagarey Road.

The closure will be from 6am to 6pm on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 and Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 of July.

Properties along the closure will be accessible and a diversion will be in place via Glen Darragh Road, Braaid Road, Cooil Road, New Castletown Road and Quaterbridge Road.

The closure is needed due to safety reasons as a connection must be made to the existing drainage system, which is three meters deep and in the centre of the road.
