As the Isle of Man braces itself for more gales and travel disruption, Flybe has given advice to customers.
The company, which operates more flights than any other airline from Ronaldsway, says that it, like every airline, has minimum acceptable weather conditions in which it can safely operate.
A letter to customers reads: ’If you are booked to fly with us during this time and wish to continue to do so, please continue to check in as normal, and regularly check our flight info page for any further updates.
’If you have connecting flights, you should also check the flight status for each of your individual flights.
’However, we are aware that you may wish to change you travel plans in light of the forecast.’
Customers travelling on February 15 and 16 have the following options:
They can rebook on a different flight for travel within the next seven days at no charge to the same or a similar destination, providing there are available seats.
If passengers choose to change their flight to another destination, Flybe says it cannot provide them with further ground transportation onwards from the new destination airport.
Customers can rebook their flight on the same route for any future date, providing seats are still available at the same price as that originally paid.
Those who would like to choose an alternate flight should note that the airline will waive any change fee for their booking.
But customers will have to pay any change in fare if higher than their original fare.
How to change bookings or get refunds:
For bookings originally made via flybe.com, there is an online tool that will allow customers to amend their booking within the next seven days, or to claim a refund if their flight has been cancelled.
To make a change, passengers should visit www.flybe.com/flight-info, key in planned flight details and the status of their flight will be displayed.
They then have the option to rebook or claim a refund.
For other bookings not made via flybe.com, they should contact either their travel agent or Flybe’s customer service team.
Flybe’s customer service department’s phone number is 0371 700 2000 or +44(0)207 308 0812 (if calling from outside of the UK).
It will be open today (Friday) until 7pm and tomorrow (Saturday) from 7am till 5pm and on Sunday from 9am till 6pm.
Every Steam Packet sailing from tomorrow morning’s sailing from Douglas to Heysham until Monday’s 2.15pm sailing from Heysham to Douglas is at risk of not sailing because of the forecast bad weather.
