Passengers arriving at Ronaldsway airport can no longer be picked up by taxi.
But taxis can continue to drop passengers off at the terminal door.
The airport said the move had come in with immediate effect in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Guidance has been issued to cabbies by the Road Transport Licensing Committee.
It states:’Based on advice from public health all taxi drivers and private hire licensees are advised not to pick up arriving passengers.
’This is due to the potential risk to those drivers who are picking up many different passengers.’
The RTLC says any taxi drivers who have undertaken pick-ups of arriving passengers since the imposition of the self-isolation requirements are not required to self-isolate, unless they develop symptoms - new continuous cough and/or continuous high temperature.
If they have these symptons they should contact the Covid-19 call centre on 111.
Health Minister David Ashford told a press briefing this lunchtime that people arriving at the airport and Sea Terminal should use either their own car or the shuttle bus to get home and they should not ’wander around getting public transport’.
