An eight-year-old girl has used her initiative to use the Courier as a way to tell islanders about a show in which she is performing.

Alice Castle, from Onchan, is part of the cast for Out of this World, which tells its story of adventure through dance and acrobatic routines.

The show is being produced by Acro Dance Studio. Its founder and director, Laura Booth, and senior instructor Dani Clarke asked all the children involved to come up with a way to let people know about the show.

In a letter to the Courier, Alice said: ’Our teachers, Laura and Dani, have set a competition to see who can come up with the best idea to make people aware of our amazing show.

’I thought it would be great to have our poster in the paper.’

Acro said that Out of this World had picked ’other worldly characters’ that had been ’carefully selected to showcase powerful musicality, choreography and amazing costumes in routines we’ve created for all the family to enjoy’.

And the company promised the show will be ’full of magic and wonder, evoking your wildest imagination, illumination your senses and provoking your emotions’.

The show runs from Thursday, November 28, to Saturday, November 30, at the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas. Tickets on sale via www.villagaiety.com or on 600555.
