The Steam Packet has cancelled all Ben-my-Chree sailings until at least Sunday morning after the boat was damaged last night.
Back up vessel the Arrow is en route to Heysham in order to pick up freight, but passengers are required to transfer to alternative sailings.
The Ben was damaged as it went into Heysham Port on Thursday night, however what caused the damage and the extent of it has not been confirmed by the company.
A spokesman for the company said it was hopeful that divers would be able to examiner the ship today.
However, since then all sailings up to and including Sunday’s 2.15am sailing from Heysham to Douglas have been cancelled.
Passengers booked on any of these sailings are asked to contact the Steam Packet on 01624661661 or 08722992992 to make alternative arrangements.
The Manannan is scheduled to sail to Liverpool tomorrow morning at 9.30am, returning at 2pm.
