A revised plan for a major public housing project on the Mayfield site, Queen’s Pier Road, Ramsey, has been submitted to the government’s planning committee by the Ramsey and Northern Housing Committee.

It follows rejection of the initial plan in 2016 when the planning committee deemed the design ’utilitarian and unattractive’.

The application is for a three-storey sheltered housing complex providing 37 flats, with associated car parking and landscaping.

Amendments include altered window design to create a stronger rhythm of vertical projecting bays and a mix of roof designs to create interest along the roof/eaves line.

Plans are approved or rejected by the government’s planning committee. Local authorities can express only an opinion about them.
