Weather forecasters have issued an amber warning about coastal overtopping.

High spring tides and strong southerly winds will lead to moderate coastal overtopping with significant debris brought onto exposed locations around the time of high tide tonight 10.21pm and tomorrow at 10.45am) with the winds then a strong south-westerly.

Areas at risk include Douglas Promenade, Castletown Promenade, Shore Road near Port St Mary, Laxey and Ramsey promenades.

Water levels may also be high enough to present a small risk of minor coastal flooding to the lowest lying inner harbour areas including the Tongue in Douglas and parts of Castletown harbour.
