An amber weather warning has been issued heavy rain and localised flooding.

It’s in place for the whole of the island today (Sunday) from 9am to 4pm.

The Met Office forecast for today: ‘Rain will soon arrive this morning, becoming heavy and persistent with standing water developing and also a risk of localised flooding for a time. ‘However, during the afternoon and into the evening the rain will gradually clear away to scattered showers.

‘Mostly moderate winds, with a top temperature of 13 Celsius.

‘Tonight will then see only a small risk of shower, with tomorrow a largely dry day with hazy sunny spells and isolated showers.

‘The southeast winds tomorrow will become quite brisk.’
