An amber weather warning remains in place until midday today after the island was hit by Storm Dylan.

But this morning’s Steam Packet sailing to Heysham left at 8.37am.

Here’s the latest bulletin from the Met Office at Ronaldsway:

’Very windy at first today with a gale to severe gale force southwest wind giving gusts of 50-60mph quite widely across the island, but perhaps up to 70mph in more exposed spots.

’Some large waves are also likely to bring sea water and debris on to exposed coastal roads and promenades around high tide this morning (9.30am), but otherwise the day will be bright with sunny intervals and a just a few passing blustery showers.

’The winds will start to ease later this morning, becoming fresh to strong this afternoon with highs of 8°C.

’This evening and tonight will be mostly dry with just an isolated shower possible. Lowest temperature near to 3°C with a fresh to strong west to southwest wind.’
