The Mountain Road is currently closed because of bad weather.Police say that the road is likely to be closed for most of the day but will be periodically reviewed throughout the day.The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning.

Forecasters say there will be hill snow, heavy rain and coastal overtopping.

The forecast:

Windy with spells of heavy rain with snow on the hills. It will turn a little milder this afternoon with the snow slowly thawing, then the rain will become lighter this evening.

Strong easterly winds will bring waves and debris onto Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey promenades at lunchtime, then the wind will slowly ease this evening. Temperatures 3 Celsius for much of the day, but rising to around 6 Celsius later this afternoon and 8 overnight.

Still some rain at first on Tuesday, but becoming dry and brightening up mid morning. Temperatures 9 or 10 Celsius with a fresh to strong southerly wind.
