The Baby, Bump & Toddler show, which would normally be held around this time in the Villa Marina, will instead be held virtually on Facebook this weekend because of the lockdown.

The show typically involves stalls which display ’the very best of local products and services for parents and families’, from pregnancy to early childhood.

Last year’s products included babygrows, papooses, young children’s books, hand-knitted baby clothes and even a heat sensitive baby spoon.

Around 30-40 businesses and organisations are taking part in the weekend’s virtual event, which will be hosted on the show’s Facebook page ’Isle of Man Bump, Baby & Toddler’.

This year will also feature a free giveaway of baby products, as well as special offers and discounts being offered by businesses such as baby photographers, chiropractic services, mother and baby yoga classes and massage therapies, and even a company which produces 3D castings of baby hands and feet.

The show also looks to put parents in contact with organisations such as the Henry Bloom Noble Library, the Speech & Language Devlopment Team, and the Children’s and Families Health Visiting Team.

There will also be online info sessions on topics like children’s first aid from St John Ambulance.

Organiser Siobhan Molloy said that the show, now in its eighth year, was non-profit, with its only aim being to ’foster a community for parents by showcasing what is available for local families’.
