An exhibition and sale of works created by Archibald Knox is going to take place next month.

Aylmer-Levine Fine Art and Michael Levine Decorative Arts are to stage the event to mark 30 years in business.

Archibald Knox (1864-1933) was a Manxman whose designs were retailed through Liberty’s in London in the early 1900s and are now collected worldwide, especially in America.

Knox was also a highly regarded watercolourist.

The Aylmer-Levine Gallery was set up by Sam and Lynn Levine in 1988, specialising in watercolour and oil paintings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Five years later, in 1993, Michael returned to the island, after spending three years learning his trade standing antique fairs all around England.

He set up along-side the gallery on the lower ground floor of the Peter Luis Building, specialising in Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

Twenty-five years on and both are still going strong, with Michael taking over the reins on the painting side in 2013.

The exhibition will include pewter, silver, jewellery, paintings and a large selection of Knox’s pencil sketches.

Prices will range from £100 to £6,000.
