The Isle of Man Arts Council is inviting people to submit videos that ’celebrate creativity during this unique time’.

Each day of December leading up to the 24th will feature a new video uploaded to the council’s website and social media feeds in an ’advent calender with a difference’.

Arts Council chairman Marlene Maska MLC said: ’This project follows the heartening success and level of engagement which our "Home is where the Art Is" attracted during the Covid-19 lockdown.

’The resulting videos proved to be truly uplifting to our islanders and the Arts Council is delighted to, once again, reach out to our creative community, young and old, to take part in this exciting project as we approach the season of Advent.

’I feel sure that we will attract a high standard and wide variety of submissions and look forward very much to seeing this project come to fruition.’

Artists and creative people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are asked to produce a short video about how they are engaging with creativity during this time and submit it to the Arts Council, which will then be judged by a panel including council members.

Each successful participant will receive a payment of £100 as support and thanks.

The videos can be of any art form, such as music, visual art, poetry, drama and dance - and must fit into one or more of the following categories: Original, Seasonal, Inspirational, Educational and Interactive.

The council said that videos can and should be submitted as soon as possible to increase chances of being selected.

Once the 24 videos have been selected, the competition will close.

Videos must be no longer than three minutes and submitted as MP4s in landscape where possible.

Forms and videos can be submitted online via the council’s website: iomarts.com
