Ryan Kneen, aged 32, of Close y Lhergy, Union Mills, appeared in court this week via video link from the prison.
He is charged with common assault, alleged to have been committed on April 6.
The case was due for mention only and has been adjourned until May 9.
Mr Kneen was represented in court by advocate Deborah Myerscough.
No bail application was made and he is remanded in custody.
