A charge of common assault, against Howard John Pierce, aged 67, of Lheannag Park, Douglas, has been dismissed.

Mr Pierce had previously pleaded not guilty to the allegation.

Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon said that the file had been reviewed and it had been decided that the evidential threshold was not met.

Mr Pierce was represented in court by advocate Sara-Jayne Dodge.
